Greetings Touch Players

 

We have finally been given the all clear by the CCC to hold touch again this season. 

Burwood Park has experienced some earthquake related issues and the in ground watering systems has been turned on today for the first time. There will be some ground repairs over the next few weeks that will allow us to commence on the 20th October.

We appreciate your patience!!!!  We are looking for a number of referees to help out as we have lost a few over the winter. We are offering a major discount for those teams that can supply a ref each week for 1 game. We will be offering reffing courses to help.

This year’s entry fee will be $400. Should you wish to be involved please reply ASAP with contact details and which grade you wish to enter. The grades this year will be Men’s A, Men’s B, Men’s 35+, Women’s A, Mixed A and Mixed B.
Please note with space limited and plenty of interest preference will be given to teams who have paid up.

Please Note:

­    Played on Thursday nights
­    Proposed start date is 20th October, breaking for Christmas on the 15th December
­    Re-start 19th January with finals night being the 23rd February. All teams play in all 18 rounds.
­    Grades    - Women’s, Men’s (three sections), Mixed (two sections)
­The rugby/cricket clubrooms are open and we welcome all teams and supporters upstairs for          post-touch refreshments. Team prizes and raffles every week.
­    Top 3 teams from each grade will receive prizes.
­    We remind teams that sportsman-like conduct and reasonable behaviour is expected.
­    Organisers reserve the right to suspend or ban any individuals or teams, which offend.

­OUR REFS ARE UNPAID VOLUNTEERS PLEASE TREAT THEM WITH DUE RESPECT. WE ARE AWARE THAT WE WILL NEED EXTRA REFEREES THIS SEASON AND WILL OFFER A $100 DISCOUNT TO TEAMS THAT CAN PROVIDE A REFEREE EACH WEEK

 

• ­    All grades this year are 6 aside, the maximum number of registered players per team is 10
• ­    Our module aims to provide “social” touch in a friendly atmosphere. Anyone expecting professional  refereeing of adopting a physical approach is probably in the wrong module
• ­    Christmas and End of Season functions will be arranged
• ­    Each team must wear a full complement of Numbered Team Uniforms. Teams that do not meet this requirement will not be eligible for points and prizes.
• ­    Each team that enters the module thereby agrees to play in any section and at any time as requested by the organisers. All competition points won will carry over if a team is promoted or relegated.
• ­    If you successfully obtain a sponsorship and require the funds to be paid into a registered club account please arrange with Shirley RFC treasurer, Howard Morel Ph: 3853877.
• ­    Less than 4 weeks remain until the season starts. Please ensure your entry and entry fee is lodged before the 10th October. This season entries will not be accepted without payment of fees unless prior arrangements are made. We will contact team managers as soon as entries are finalised.
